On July 4th, Nassau Community Connections, Inc., recognized three local volunteers with its first annual “Life is for Service” award. There are two food pantries in the Town of Nassau, the Gathering Place and the Nassau Resource Center. Between them they serve as many as 400-800 persons a month. Bev Warner (seated) volunteers at both food pantries. Lori Clark (third from left) has volunteered at the Nassau Resource Center for over a decade and advocates consistently for persons in need in the community. Diana Murphy (second from left) opened the Nassau Resource Center in 1989 and has acted as the Volunteer Coordinator since. It is with great pride that these individuals are recognized for their humble and dedicated service to our community.
